Karzai Wins Run Off

Hamid Karzai won the Afghanistan’s presidential election. Karzai did have less of a fight after Abdullah Abdullah pulled out of the election on Sunday because of risk with fraud.
The US embassy said in a statement that it looked forward to working with Karzai to support reform and improve security, according to Fox News. The U.N Secretary General Ban Ki-moon met up with Karzai, on Monday. He promised that he would still support Afghanistan in humanitarian ways.
“I have great pleasure to extend to you my heartiest felicitations on your re-election as the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan,” Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari said.
He along with the US, and the UN congratulated Karzai’s elected presidency. Zardari quoted this about the nomination, “this is indeed a moment of far reaching significance.” He stated the officials and the people of Pakistan are strongly devoted to further cementing Pakistan’s close, fraternal and cooperative ties with Afghanistan during Karzai second term of office, World News.
