The White House agreed to debate over the Health care bill after they accepted the vote for the bill intact from antiabortion democrats to ban government funding for abortion.
The house only needs one last vote that may come about Saturday or early Sunday, and 218 in total to pass the bill. Once the debate over the bill began Saturday, Republicans immediately condemned it. Republicans, like Joe Wilson, noticed the U.S. 10% increase in unemployment rate, and stated that the Democrats have “misplaced priorities”.
The Democrats have fought amongst each other with the debate over banning federal funding on abortion, which this new health care bill will cover.
“This ensures that those who want abortions have access to it, without forcing anyone to pay for anyone’s abortion with tax dollars or their own private funds, Bart Stupak, an anti-abortion Democrat said.
Even some abortion rights advocates agreed with antiabortionist on the prohibition on federal funding for abortions. “If our amendment is made in order, yes, I believe it will pass,” he said.
