US police are investigating Gibson Guitars for their alleged use of illegal wood to make their instruments, reports NME.
In an attempt to find evidence that Gibson shipped illegal rosewood from Madagascar via Germany, federal agents seized computers, files and guitars from a manufacturing facility in Nashville, TN.
Gibson issued a statement on the issue, saying ""Gibson is a chain of custody certified buyers that purchases wood from legal suppliers who are to follow all standards."
Due to the Lacey Act, companies are not allowed to bring rosewood into the US on account of corruption and environmental issues.
