SXSW Announces First 230 Bands In Lineup

The South By Southwest Music Conference has announced the first 230 bands in the lineup Tuesday. The annual Austin, Texas, music festival will be held March 2010, reports the Houston Chronicle.
The fest’s website listed notable bands like Frightened Rabbit, Japandroids, Robyn Hitchcock, Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson, Harlem, Small Black, Deer Tick, the Crystal Method, and Warpaint. No jaw-dropping bands have signed on just yet like the Decemberists did last year, but more are sure to come in the upcoming months, reports Strangeglue.
The SXSW website explains the festival: “Year after year, the event is a launching pad for new creative content. New media presentations, music showcases and film screenings provide buzz-generating exposure for creators and compelling entertainment for audiences.”
